Celebrations at HQ

It's been an busy month down at AE HQ. This month we have launched Astro Empires first ever rounds server, Ares is currently the only Astro Empires server with an end and only runs for a set period of time. It would be sad to wave goodbye to your old empire but c'est la vie, the rounds system allows for greater competitive gameplay and prizes for the winners! The current round is scheduled to end October 24th and a new one will start soon afterwards so watch this space for details.

We've also released a few new 3D artworks into the game, this time the Destroyer! It is looking pretty slick if I do say so myself. Looking for some high quality versions of it? Click here to get them and other ship images off the portal's gallery.

Portugal has been celebrating the past few days with the yearly marking of the founding of Portugal’s first republic back in 1910. October 5th is a day for partying in the sun! Not too familiar with this period of history? Well read a bit more about it here.

In other news Wizard has celebrated his 33rd birthday. He was only 27 years of age when Astro Empires was founded, not a bad first major coding project I'm sure you'd all agree. It's also worth noting that I (Ikari) will be heading out to HQ this week for what has become a traditional yearly visit. What can I say, there has to be some benefit to dealing with all the spam and flaming on the forums! ;-)
